Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) treatment is a type of psychotherapy that utilizes a cognitive-behavioral based approach. It emphasizes the psychosocial aspects of treatment.
The theory behind the approach is that some people are prone to react in a more intense and out-of-the-ordinary manner toward certain emotional situations, primarily those in the romantic, family and friend relationships.

DBTs Main goal is to build a life worth living. That can mean different things to different people. DBT therapists look at target behaviors with the client and create goals to reduce damaging behaviors.

There Are Four Key Key Elements of DBT

2. Interpersonal Effectiveness

3. Distress Tolerance

4. Emotion Regulation
