Cupping & Chinese Medicine

If you’ve never heard of cupping, I’m sure you’re wondering what it is.  Cupping therapy is a treatment in which the practitioner creates suction in a cup, usually by means of heat. This draws up the underlying tissues. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place.

Cupping has been found to affect the body up to four inches into the tissues, causing tissues to release toxins, activate the lymphatic system, clear colon blockages, help activate and clear the veins, arteries and capillaries, activate the skin, clear stretch marks and improve varicose veins. Cupping is the best deep tissue massage available.

Cupping, the technique, is very useful and very safe!

Cupping has been known to treat the following:
  • Chronic pain

“Things fall apart so other things can come together.”

Do you believe this to be true?

A Cosmetic Acupuncture Weight Loss Solution…

A Cosmetic Acupuncture Weight Loss Solution….

Weight loss is about making healthier lifestyle and dietary choices, improving your health, and incorporating weekly, if not daily, exercise.  Cosmetic Acupuncture Weight Loss is a protocol that takes inches off your waist and hips, firms your abdomen, improves metabolism and digestion, and improves your overall health.

So how does Chinese Medicine work for Weight Loss?

According to Chinese Medicine the root cause of excess weight is caused from an imbalance in the whole body.  The underlying reason is usually stemmed from a deficiency (malfunctioning), of the Spleen and Liver organs.

In Chinese Medicine the Spleen controls the functioning of the digestive system, and transforms the food we eat into Qi (energy).  Symptoms from an insufficiency in the Spleen include a slow metabolism, fatigue, loose stools/diarrhea, retention of water, feeling of heaviness, and weight gain.

The Liver controls the smooth flow of Qi (energy) and emotions in the body in Chinese Medicine.  Due to stress and a fast paced lifestyle, it can impact the Liver’s ability to control the flow of Qi (energy) in the body, therefore affecting the Spleens ability to regulate metabolism and digestion.  Since the Liver regulates emotions, through disharmony it can generate compulsive eating and cravings.

The Acupuncture points are used to stimulate the Spleen, Liver, and other digestive organs to remove inches and promote general health.

Increased metabolism, improved digestion, and weight loss is yours!!
Reduced appetite and cravings are reported from most patients experiencing Acupuncture alone, but with herbs, healthy/healing foods and exercise it can increase the weight loss process.  A study published in the Journal of Medical Acupuncture reported that participants receiving Acupuncture lost three times more weight than participants in the control group.

And since its Acupuncture, there are healthy side effects!

Health benefits not just confined to physical weight loss

  • Improved digestion
  • more energy
  • improved sleep
  • reduction of depression
  • decreased anxiety
  • headache relief
  • relaxation and balancing of the body
  • hot flashes and/or night sweat reduction
  • improved thyroid function
  • decreased PMS symptoms
  • increased circulation

Is Cosmetic Acupuncture Weight Loss Safe?

Absolutely!  There are no drugs or injections, no recovery time, and no negative side effects.

Though completely safe, Cosmetic Acupuncture Weight Loss is not recommended for individuals with the following conditions:

  • pregnant women
  • women with uterine fibroids
  • individuals with enlarged organs

Course of Treatment

The average course of treatments is ten sessions (depending on the individual).  Two to three treatments are recommended per week.  Please allow for one hour for each session.  After the first treatment, there are subtle to visible results.  Typically very visible results show after four to seven treatments (depending on the individual).  After the intense course of needed treatments, maintenance is strongly recommended to sustain the health of the body, which should be done once or twice per month.

Please be aware that depending on an individual’s lifestyle their amount of progress may be different then the standard course of treatment and the time frame of results may vary.

Each Cosmetic Acupuncture Weight Loss treatment also includes a Medical Acupuncture treatment during the session and other health concerns may be addressed at that time.

Chinese Medicine, including Acupuncture, is a healthy and effective way to lose weight, by itself or as a supportive treatment in conjunction with other weight management programs (such as exercise).

Herbs and Healing Foods: Herbs and healing foods are recommending during the course of Cosmetic Acupuncture Weight Loss treatments.  They are suggested to help promote healthy digestion, regulate and maintain a healthy flow of Qi (energy) in the body, clear toxics, and eliminate waste products.  The intake of foods that are salty should be reduced and greasy foods should be eliminated.  Foods that have bitter, sour, and acrid properties are helpful in promoting weight loss.

Abdominal Massage/Exercise:
Points on the abdomen improve digestion, absorption of food and peristalsis of the intestines. The abdominal points can be stimulated with massage or by belly breathing, where the abdomen is consciously moving in and out with each breath. Deep breathing with visualization can also strengthen will power and be used as a tool to curb hunger and cravings.

You may find it difficult to eat less and expend more energy.  You may come to discover that Acupuncture is just what you need to overcome cravings, increase metabolism, boost energy, and support your willpower to succeed!

Acupuncture can help a wide range of physical and emotional problems: the focus being on improving overall well-being by focusing on the core reason the condition is occurring, as well as the treatment of specific symptoms.  Because of this that means treatment with Acupuncture can often succeed where conventional treatments can offer no relief.

Acupuncture Face-Lift? The Truth About Cosmetic Acupuncture.

A little about Cosmetic Acupuncture Face-Lifts and rejuvenation….

Cosmetic Acupuncture targets internal causes of aging while minimizing the outward appearance. Blood and circulation is also energized which improves facial color.  Through Acupuncture your face lifts itself by your muscles revitalizing and tightening.  The Acupuncture body and face points correct imbalances in the body giving you all the healthy side affects of this procedure.

So what’s the science behind Cosmetic Acupuncture?  Tiny micro-traumas are caused by inserting the needles into the skin, which stimulate your body’s wound healing process.  Through this healing process your body balances out the dispersal of collagen by encouraging fibroblasts (cells that form collagen and elastin fibers) to travel to the needling sites and deposit new collagen fibers.  From this Acupuncture process your skin becomes more collagen- and elastin-rich.

Firmer, newer, and younger looking skin is yours!
