The 5 Element Approach to Change
- Coaching and Counseling
- Healthcare and Wellness
- Art, Fitness, and Recreation
- Support and Community
This is the primary treatment model that we follow at HarmonyUs. Each client’s challenges are different and their needs unique. Your therapist, our team of wellness professionals and you (the client) will carefully examine your current needs, short term objectives and long term goals in order to carefully develop the most efficient and effective personalized treatment plan.
When developing your treatment plan, we use a variety of therapeutic modalities and techniques which are all designed to work with your creative brain, your logical brain, your physical body, your spiritual body, your five senses, and stretch your traditional boundaries. We will also provide you with the warmest, safest, and most supportive environment possible so that we can we can create the best possible conditions for growth.
This model is holistic, step based, and multidisciplinary in nature. Initially, individual therapy is recommended for a period of time. individual therapy may not always involve talk therapy as it often includes, music, art, physical and other forms of alternative therapies. Often there will be homework assignments which may include reading, videos, cooking, and writing assignments.
After a a non specific period of time, the next step in this therapeutic model will include group therapy. During this period the client may participate in various workshops, retreats, events, or coaching seminars as well. All of these components are again based on your specific needs and goals. Community and social support is an essential part of treatment program and we incorporate social media and private online forums as significant part of our therapeutic process.
Finally, the client is expected to be seen individually only on an as needed basis or attend group monthly for continued support. At this point, you feel as though you have either accomplished your goals or have gathered enough tools needed to move forward on your own.
At any point in the process, you may find that you have developed some physical complaints. It is not uncommon for emotions to impair the immune system or for stress to create physical pain. We offer a variety of minimally invasive treatment options designed help you when these issues come up. Additionally, these supportive services also help, during times when counseling may have hit a plateau period. Often, these treatment modalities can make a significant difference in your progress. We also refer out for medication management as indicated.
Although our practice is boutique in nature, this treatment model emphasizes the importance of a supportive system. Thus, we prefer to work with the entire family infrastructure if possible. If your are partnered, married, or have children, we welcome them to our practice in the hopes that we can work with your entire family thus ensuring that the tools you are given here are reinforced at home.
